さて、今年の10月に沖縄に来て12年目になります。

なかなかヨーロッパに帰れないみたい...

12年目というのに、昨日、こんな素晴らしい発見がありました...

タナガーグムイ滝！ Tanagaa Gumui Waterfall!



So, as I have written in Japanese above, this coming October will mark the 12th year of my presence in Okinawa. A very long time indeed, and I don't know if I will be able one day to see the European continent again...


Anyway, I was amazed to discover this beautiful waterfall you can see on the picture, and I was much more amazed to realize that despite my 12 years here, I was the only one not to know about the place.



Au mois d'octobre cette année, cela fera 12 ans que je suis à Okinawa. Reverrai-je un jour le continent européen?


Quelle surprise de découvrir que malgrès mes 12 années dans l'île, je n'étais jamais allé à Tanagaa Gumui, une superbe cascade qui nous rappelle les portes du paradis. Et pourtant.... tout le monde semble déjà connaître l'endroit.

ター滝の大ファンである私は驚きました。沖縄にはやはり天国に近い場所が数々あると改めて感じました。

タナガーグムイの意味は手長エビです。

私は最初、手の長いエビモンスターが滝の底に潜み、泳ぎに来る人を引っ張るという意味だと思い、水に入ることを警戒しましたが....実は手の長いエビがたくさん存在することに因んで付けられた名前のようです。
写真で見せるつもりですが、エビが半分しか写せなくてすみません。後ろの激流に落ちないように気をつけながら撮った写真んで...


The name of the waterfall means "lobster with big hands" in Okinawan language.
At first, I imagined a huge lobster monster dwelling at the bottom of the fall, and grabbing passer-by who dare swim in its waters.


But actually, it is called like this just because there are many lobsters with long hands as you can see above (though we cannot see the hands of the beast on the picture, since the cameraman was taking it while trying not to fall in the deep water behind him).


Le nom de la cascade veut dire "la langouste aux mains longues" dans le dialecte Okinawaïen.
Au début, je pensais qu'une langouste géante enfouie au fin fond de la cascade guéttait les passants qui oseraient s'aventurer dans ses eaux.


Mais en fin de compte, il s'avère que ce nom vient juste des "petites" langoustes que l'on trouve dans cet endroit et qui ont les pattes longues, comme on ne peut pas le voir sur la photo ci-desus puisque le photographe a pris la photo tout en essayant de ne pas tomber dans le lac sans fond juste derrière lui.

タナガーグムイは存分に遊べる場所なので皆さん、是非行ってみてください。




This man on the picture doesn't seem to really care about the huge lobster monster...


But he is right, he is having fun, and you will have too if you go there, that is why I recommend  you to visit Tanagaa gumui waterfall.

Il a raison, il s'amuse bien et c'est ce que vous ferez si vous vous rendez dans cet endroit paradisiaque que je vous recommande.


どれほど勉強したって、どれほど探したって、この世に知り尽くすものがありません。


ということで私の沖縄探検は続きます...


次回は沖縄登山！沖縄は海だけじゃない....(　＾∀＾)


行き方：

沖縄の北部にある国頭村まで行ってください。東海岸沿いの県道70道をついていくと安波という部落に着きます。
普久川を渡ってから道路が上り坂になり、その途中から左にある小道に入ってください。
小さい駐車スペースがあり、丘を歩いて降りる道があります。
結構険しい道なので十分に気をつけてください。

Directions:


Get to Kunigami-son, in the north of the island. Keep following route 70 on the east coast. You will arrive to a small village called Aha. Once you pass over the Fuku river, the road starts going up. Take the first small road on your left, there is a parking place after 10 meters. 
You will have to follow a narrow footpath going down the hill to get to the waterfall.
Be careful as the path is very steep and slippery. 


Pour se rendre à la cascade:


Rendez-vous à Kunigami-son, dans le nord de l'île. Suivez la route 70 qui suit la côte est. Vous arriverez dans un hameau appellé Aha. Une fois la rivière Fuku traversée, la route commence à monter. Vous allez trouver un chemin sur votre gauche. Il vous conduira à un petit parking et de là suivez le sentier pédestre qui descend la colline.
Faites attention car la pente est très raide et le chemin glissant.
